Ideias do Levante – Associação Cultural de Lagoa (Algarve), in a partnership with Municipality of Lagoa (Algarve), is presently producing an Opera Night concert, entitled “Opera Night – Laghter and Tears”, which will happen on July 26, at 9:30pm.

Carla Pontes e Francisco Brazão

We’re proud to present Carla Pontes (Soprano, http://www.carlapontes.info), Francisco Brazão (Bass-baritone), and Cristiana Silva (Pianist). The show is entirely composed of opera scenes which establish a comparison between comic and tragic opera through the staging of arias and duets from important operas by Donizetti, Puccini, Bellini, Verdi e Bizet. The show will be narrated by Paulo Segurado in Portuguese and in English.

The concert is recommended for adults and children over 12 y. o. The auditorium seats 300 people. The tickets may be acquired at the Convento de S. José, Lagoa (Tel. 282380434) or at Auditório Municipal de Lagoa (Tel. 282380452). The ticket price is 8,00€ for the public in general, and there is a special reduced ticket price of 5,00€ for Ideias do Levante associates, children and teenagers under 18 y. o., over 65, as well as for the bearers of “Cartão Jovem”, LagoaSocial, and of the “Passaporte Cultural de Lagoa”.
